Doug DesMarais, Managing Partner
Doug got his first construction job—hanging drywall—when he was 15 years old, spending summers and weekends lifting thousands of pounds in a day and building a capacity and appreciation for hard work. At 19, he founded Action Drywall and has been banging a hammer ever since.
In 2014, he began project managing the renovations of large commercial and university projects, a challenging process which suits his personality perfectly. A born communicator, Doug constantly assesses potential risks to a timeline and strives to get the right people involved in issues before they become problems. And as someone who has spent decades making a living with his hands he truly values and respects every subcontractor doing work for ARG, a sentiment which translates into loyal workers who do the best job they can for our clients.
John Hirsch, Managing Partner
Having been raised on a dairy farm, physical exertion has been part of John’s life for as long as he can remember. At age 12, he began wheeling concrete and carrying roofing materials for his cousin’s construction company. In high school he studied construction technology and spent his afternoons learning all aspects of building, including framing, electric, plumbing, roofing, finish carpentry, as well as how to read blueprints and comply with building codes.
After spending several years working in the trades, he founded Hirsch Builders in 1992 and has been building and remodeling homes and commercial properties ever since. In 2015, he began focusing exclusively on large-scale commercial remodeling projects. Clients continually recommend and rehire John because of his construction experience and expertise, as well as his ability to mobilize labor talent in the right directions so that jobs are completed on-time, within budget and to specifications. John also is a Certified Mold Remediator and Inspector.
